The main body material uses master-piece’s original fabric “MASTERTEX-09™,” which combines durability, water resistance, and water repellency.
This fabric is woven at certified factories that meet INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand fabric production and quality standards. It uses two-ply twisted yarns consisting of 840d yarns in the warp and 420d Hollofil Air™ (hollow 66 nylon yarn) in the weft, aligned in pairs. The resulting fabric meets CORDURA® brand standards and offers excellent strength against abrasion, tearing, and fraying.
A PU coating is applied to the reverse side, and a special breathable waterproof film, L-VENT®, is laminated to further enhance water resistance. Combined with bonded tricot nylon, this results in a three-layer structure.
The accessory materials include two types of leather and fabric. The leather used on the front face is made from carefully selected fine-fiber hides, tanned with oils to create a water-repellent velour leather.
Because it lacks a grain layer, it offers excellent breathability while maintaining thickness and firmness. Its long pile creates a distinctive surface with warmth and character.
The leather used for other parts is carefully selected high-quality domestic steer leather. During the tanning process, a waterproofing agent produced by 3M™ is added to the drum, allowing it to fully penetrate the leather.
After dyeing and oiling to prepare the base, a 3M™ waterproofing agent is also sprayed during the finishing stage to further enhance water resistance.
This leather has passed the monitoring tests of 3M™ SCOTCHGARD®, providing both water and stain resistance. The tests are conducted even after the surface is abraded, ensuring that the effectiveness does not diminish.
Materials used on the bottom and other areas include INVISTA’s 1680d CORDURA® Ballistic nylon, which offers approximately five times the abrasion resistance, tear strength, and durability of standard nylon. A PVC coating on the reverse side further enhances strength and water resistance.
The cushioning of the shoulder pads, excluding the outer fabric, features a five-layer structure and incorporates lightweight, resilient EVA resin, along with Fusion® by Asahi Kasei Advance, a material also used in bedding and automotive seating.
Fusion® is an innovative three-dimensional knitted fabric developed by Asahi Kasei, in which two knitted layers are connected by elastic yarns, providing excellent cushioning. Its diagonal support structure also offers superior shape stability.
In addition, the layer closest to the body uses Outlast®, a temperature-regulating material originally developed for NASA, combined with a fine-gauge, soft double Russell mesh.
In terms of storage, the bag is equipped with a variety of thoughtfully designed pockets, both inside and outside, in multiple sizes to ensure usability for both on- and off-duty situations.
