The main body is made from master-piece’s original high-performance fabric “MASTERTEX-09™,” which offers excellent durability, water resistance, and water repellency.
Produced at certified factories that meet INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand fabric standards, this fabric is woven using double yarns composed of 840d warp and 420d weft Hollofil Air™ (hollow 66 nylon fibers), achieving superior resistance to abrasion, tearing, and wear.
A PU coating is applied to the reverse side, and a highly breathable waterproof film L-VENT® is laminated, creating a three-layer structure bonded with tricot nylon to further enhance water resistance.
Two types of leather and fabric are used for the auxiliary materials. The leather used on the front face is made by oil-tanning carefully selected fine-fiber hides, resulting in water-repellent velour leather.
With no grain layer, it offers excellent breathability while maintaining firmness through added thickness. The raised nap gives it a warm, distinctive surface texture.
Other leather parts are crafted from carefully selected high-quality Japanese steer leather. During tanning, a waterproofing agent from 3M is added into the drum, allowing it to penetrate deep into the leather.
After dyeing and oiling to create the base, an additional 3M waterproof spray is applied during finishing, further enhancing water resistance.
This leather has passed 3M’s “SCOTCHGARD®” monitoring tests for water and stain resistance. The tests are conducted even after the surface is abraded, ensuring long-lasting performance.
For the bottom and other high-stress areas, INVISTA’s 1680d CORDURA Ballistic® nylon is used, offering approximately five times the abrasion and tear strength of standard nylon. A PVC coating on the reverse side further improves durability and water resistance.
Inside the shoulder pad cushion—constructed in a five-layer structure excluding the outer fabric— lightweight and resilient EVA resin is combined with Fusion® by Asahi Kasei Advance, a material also used in bedding and automotive seats.
Fusion® is an innovative three-dimensional knitted fabric developed by Asahi Kasei, connecting two knitted layers with elastic yarns for outstanding cushioning and shape stability.
The layer closest to the body uses Outlast®, a temperature-regulating material originally developed for NASA, along with a finely knitted, soft double raschel mesh.
In addition, the backpack is equipped with the original “m-strap 2” mechanism, designed to reduce the load placed on the body. It not only provides cushioning but also fits a wide range of shoulder shapes for enhanced comfort.
For storage, both the interior and exterior are equipped with various pockets of different sizes, designed for practicality in both on- and off-duty use.
